Ever since she was very young, Kate Lackman has had a passion for art and has been intensely active in her artistic development. Kate received a BFA from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and became a commercial artist before turning to oil painting. Kate studied painting attending workshops of well-known artists: Daniel Greene, Quang Ho, Timothy Thies and C.W. Mundy.
Her paintings are rendered in strong, warm hues and endeavor to draw the viewer into the work. Kate depicts a number of subject matters, from still life and landscapes, to figurative and nudes. One will find themselves contemplating the posture and well thought out composition.
Kate is an active member of the Cincinnati Art Club and Oil Painters of America. She has recently been accepted into the 2007 OPA National Show. Currently residing in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kate Lackman finds inspiration for her work in her family and in the beauty around her.
